Much of the attention around data journalism and politics has lately focused on forecasting, for good reasons. But data journalism’s role in politics and elections is and should be so much more, and as journalists we should reclaim that space. Derek Willis was in charge of the ground breaking collaborative project Election Land, where a coalition of 1100 people stood watch over the 2016 US election for the project. He will join us through a video link, and talk about the many ways that data journalism can play a role in coverage of politics and elections. Of course there will be possibilities to ask questions!
