Nominated in Investigative:Breaking the dark net (VG, Norge)
Data journalism on the dark net. A complicated puzzle is put in place to reveal not only child pornography online, but also to show the police’s dubious methods of combating this type of crime, leading to both arrests and international debate. In addition, very well presented.
Presented by Oyvind Engan

De svenska skrotskeppen (DN, Sverige)
Based on a tip, the answer to the question “where do all Swedish scraped vessels go?” is looked for in public data. Great creativity in finding additional data sets. Well done from idea to presentation. (paywall)
Presented by Kristoffer Örstadius

Kommunernes skattelyleverandører (Avisen Kommunen, Danmark)
How extensive is the problem that companies that deliver services or goods to Danish municipalities are placed in tax havens? The answer is found in a large amount of public data. Carefully implemented, clearly presented.
Presented by Jens Holm

Paradissvenskarna (SVT, Sverige)
A deep diving in a leak to find the Swedish connections to the tax haven. Carefully carried out in the work of screening and analyzing data, and finally presenting the information relevant to its own audience. Very well visualized. (Also nominated in Applications, will not present in this session.)

Finn Parliament Visit log (Open Knowledge & Svenska Yle, Finland)
An important work for increasing public transparency. By systematizing and making available lists of visitors, Finnish parliamentarians meetings with lobbyists are displayed. The data journalistic groundwork carried out by OKF has been well implemented and has yielded a good dividend in a large number of articles. One example is from Yle, that published a story on how the Finnish Parliament systematically erases visitors’ logs (see Dolda data).
Presented by Aleksi Knuutila and Linus Lång. (OKFFI presentation)

Exploatering av rennäringens marker (Sameradion/Digitala insatsstyrkan)
(Not nominated but got special attention by the jury special for drawing attention to an important issue in the Nordic Sapmi.)
Presented by Digitala insatsstyrkan.
